For this project, I used the following DMC threads: 938 Ultra Dark Coffee Brown, 726 Light Topaz, and 905 Dark Parrot Green. I also experimented with a blue Coats & Clark floss from a value pack called Pool Party. Until recently, I had only used DMC threads, but trying new brands is a fun way to explore different shades and textures in your embroidery.
A 4- to 6-inch hoop works best for stitching, giving you enough space to work this design comfortably.
