This floral hand embroidery pattern is a small blue and yellow design that comes with a free pattern and a full video tutorial.
Over the past month, I’ve really started to appreciate small, fast embroidery projects. They are not just easier, they are necessary for me right now. I was recently diagnosed with painful degenerative disk disease of the neck, and it has changed how I stitch.
Because of that, I can only stitch in short periods of time. I have to keep things simple and manageable. I’m not ready to give up embroidery though. I still love it, and I believe I can make it work in small doses.
This floral hand embroidery pattern is part of that shift for me. It’s simple, calming, and something you can finish without feeling overwhelmed.
Watch the Video Tutorial
In this video, I show how to execute each stitch in this floral hand embroidery pattern step by step.
The stitches used in this design are stem stitch, french knots, long and short stitch, and fishbone stitch. I use stem stitch for the stems. French knots are perfect for flower centers and small buds.
For the petals, I use long and short stitch to fill them in softly. Then for the leaves, I use fishbone stitch, which I always come back to because it gives a nice shape.
I show how to stitch each part in the video, so you can follow along at your own pace.
Because of my degenerative disk disease, TMJ, arthritis and fibromyalgia, I need projects like this. Fast and easy is going to be my path forward. I still want to enjoy embroidery, and flowers are always a good place to start.
Free Floral Hand Embroidery Pattern

This is a free traceable floral hand embroidery pattern that you can use for your own stitching.
I make all of my patterns free to use. Right now, I don’t have plans to turn this into a business. Of course, it would be amazing if my channel was monetized someday, but for now I just want to share what I create.
These patterns are for anyone who doesn’t want to design their own. I know that part can feel hard or overwhelming, so I like to make it easier.
I truly hope you are finding my patterns helpful. Especially if you are looking for something small and manageable.
I’m not sure what my pace will be going forward, but I do know I won’t let pain stop me completely. Baby steps are enough. One video a month is enough. And there is always hope that I will have better days too.

Trying Tulip Embroidery Needles

Tulip embroidery needles can be found on my Amazon idea list. I will be mostly stitching with these for the foreseeable future. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
This was my first time using Tulip embroidery needles, and I honestly really love them.
They are very sharp, which helps a lot. They also feel flexible, but they don’t stay bent. That part felt strange at first because I’m used to stiffer needles.
But I noticed it made sliding under threads on the back much easier, and that helped my hands.
I also really like how they come in a small vial with a cork, and each needle size is clearly labeled on the sticker. It’s simple, but it makes a difference.
Final Thoughts

This floral hand embroidery pattern is a small project, but it means a lot to me right now.
I’m learning to slow down and adjust. I’m choosing simple designs that I can finish without pushing myself too hard.
If you are also dealing with pain, or just need something easy, I hope this helps. You don’t need to do a lot at once. A few stitches at a time is enough.
And if you love floral hand embroidery like I do, there is always a way to keep going.
